USE AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION MANUAL -
ATEX ADDITIONAL MANUAL
TO BE KEPT BY THE USER
1. INTRODUCTION
This supplementary instruction manual refers to the installation,
use and maintenance of EVMS pumps for use in places
with potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX). These
instructions must be observed in addition to the warnings
provided in the instruction manual for use and maintenance
of the EVMS product, supplied together with this manual.
Furthermore, these instructions refer only to the hydraulic
part (pump without motor). If the pump is supplied with the
motor, the latter is ATEX compliant and has a dedicated
plate. If the pump is supplied without a motor, the
combined device (pump motor) only complies with the
ATEX directive if the single pump and its electric motor
are approved (certified) according to this directive.
Otherwise the assembly cannot be considered suitable
for use in areas with danger of explosion. The element
with the lowest ATEX class downgrades the entire device.
Incorrect installation can cause dangerous situations,
therefore the pump can no longer be considered suitable
for use in areas with danger of explosion. Our EVMS
product must only be assembled by qualified and authorised
personnel. The personnel assigned to assembly and
maintenance must necessarily be instructed and have
adequate training in the field of potentially explosive
atmospheres. Commissioning and maintenance must
comply with the connection indications, standards and
prescriptions provided below.
These prescriptions must be made known and made
available to the personnel who use the EVMS product.
The following symbols were used in the preparation of the
instruction manual:
ATTENTION
Risk of damaging the pump or system
Risk of causing damage to persons or property
Electrical risk
Explosion risk
