Filling

To fill the systems:
– Power the thermal unit and the Heat Pump by setting the
respective general switches "IG" and main switches "IP" of
the appliances to "ON".
– Close the fuel shut-off valves
– Open all the automatic relief valves located on the thermal
unit, the Heat Pump and the HYBRID KIT (consult the
instruction manuals of the appliances).
– Where possible, select the maximum speed for the pumps.
– Open the filling valve fitted on the heating unit and char-
ge the systems until the pressure gauge of the heating unit
shows a reading of around 1.6 bar ; then close it
– Set all devices (TA, etc.) on the system to heating demand
mode, so that all the pumps can work for at least 10 minutes ,
making water circulate and facilitating bleeding of air.
– Put the thermostats back to the "non-demand" position.
– Repeat the procedures outlined in the previous point 2 or 3
times and check on the pressure gauge that the pressure of
system (when cold) is between 1.2 – 1.5 bar . If it is not, open
the filling valve until the correct value is reached.
m
WARNING
If the pumps struggle to prime, we suggest
connecting a drain pipe to the manual relief outlet
(3 - Fig. 2) of the HYBRID KIT and opening it. Close it
at the end of the process.

Operation

m
WARNING
For any anomalies of the heating unit, see the
manual.
NECESSARY SETTINGS
The settings required for the optimal operation of the
generators and systems, and for guaranteeing the utmost
comfort for the user, include:
A - Setting of the Heat Pump PARAMETERS
a
ATTENTION
DO NOT use the system delivery sensor (SMI) sup-
plied with the Hybrid Kit; use the one supplied with
the Heat Pump.
The AHS (auxiliary heating source) must be set on the user
interface through the remote control of the Heat Pump. To
activate it, the relevant parameters must be set on the remote
control of the Heat Pump. Proceed as described below:
MENU > FOR ASSISTANCE SERVICE > PW "234" > PAR. 7
"OTHER HEATING SOURCES"
PAR. 7.8 = AHS "HOT" or "HOT + DHW" function
PAR. 7.11 = AHS delay time of the heating unit (Default = 30
min - Range = 5 – 120 min). After this time, the heating unit is
activated to integrate the Heat Pump. (see Fig. 21)
PAR 7.12 = External temperature threshold below which the
integrative heat source is enabled.
a
ATTENTION
– For applications where high temperature is always
required, set the value of PAR 7.12 to the maxi-
mum threshold.
– If the outside temperature exceeds the value set
on this parameter, the integrative heat source is
disabled.
34
PAR. 7.14 = Cost in Euro of gas settable by the customer ac-
cording to the value
PAR. 7.15 = Cost in Euro of electricity settable by the customer
according to the value.
B - Setting of the "SUMMER" or "WINTER" mode
These modes are set manually on both the boiler and the Heat
Pump, and MUST BE "IDENTICAL": in other words, "WINTER"
(heating) on both appliances or "SUMMER" (cooling) on both
appliances.
Operation in "heating" mode
The "Winter" operating mode must be set and the closing of
the room thermostat (TA) is interpreted as a request for heat.
a
ATTENTION
The delivery set-point MUST be set by the user on
the Heat Pump.
C - Temperature settings
To increase or decrease the delivery temperature of the hea-
ting unit it is possible to turn the "
a
ATTENTION
For AQUA heating units, the temperature can be
adjusted to between 40°C to over 75°C. For SOLO and
heating units, it can be adjusted to between
DUETTO
45°C and over 80°C.

ATTENTION
To ensure correct operation, the heating unit tem-
perature set-point MUST be set to 15°C above the
set-point on the Heat Pump.
To ensure that the heat demand is properly met, we recom-
mend setting a system delivery set-point on the Heat Pump
NOT exceeding 60°C. Consequently, on the boiler we recom-
mend NOT exceeding 75°C from the adjustment thermostat.
For example:if you decide to set a system delivery temperature
of 55°C, it is necessary set the same value on the remote con-
trol of the Heat Pump as well, and set the Diesel Heating Unit
adjustment thermostat to 70°C.
When there is a heat demand, the system delivery pump (PMI)
activates immediately and then the Heat Pump also activates
to reach the delivery temperature (T1) set on the remote con-
trol.
m
ATTENTION
If the Heat Pump, after the interval set at PAR. 7.11,
fails to meet the demand, the set-point causes the
heating unit to intervene to support it.
