Basic Operation 1

Press the POWER switch to turn the unit on.

Select a source by turning the FUNCTION knob (or
pressing the FUNCTION buttons of the remote
control unit).
The selected source is shown on the front panel's
display.
DVD
TUNER (frequency is displayed)
AUX
MD/CD-R (ANALOG)
MD/CD-R (DIGITAL)
TAPE
< Pressing the MD/CD-R button alternates between
ANALOG and DIGITAL.
< When you select a digital source, "DIGITAL" indicator
might blink on the display. It blinks when the unit
cannot perceive the digital signal. In that case,
connect a digital device to the DIGITAL IN terminal,
and switch it on.

Play the source, and gradually turn up the volume to
the required level by turning the VOLUME knob.

Recording a Source

You can record a source such as a Compact Disc onto a
CD-R or a cassette tape connected to the DIGITAL OUT
terminal or the REC jacks.

Select a source to be recorded by turning the
FUNCTION knob.

Start recording.
