9.8 Assembly of the handwheel for setting the cut-
ting speed, (fig. 2, 3, 15)
The speed of the band saw can be infinitely adjusted
using the hand wheel.
1.
Slide the handwheel for setting the cutting speed
(9) onto the shaft on the right-hand side of the ma-
chine.
2.
Fix the handwheel for setting the cutting speed (9)
with a washer (43) and the locking nut (42).
3.
Tighten the nut (42).
9.9 Push stick retainer (Fig. 2, 17)
The push stick retainer (16) is pre-mounted on the
machine frame. If not in use, the push stick (52) must
always be stowed in the push stick retainer (16).
9.10 Changing the saw band (Fig. 1, 2, 7, 17, 18,
19, 20)
m Attention!Pull out the mains plug!
Danger! Risk of injury even when the saw band
is at a standstill. Wear gloves when replacing the
saw band.
Only use suitable saw bands. The guide rail (7) can be
swivelled to the side to make replacing the saw band
easier.
1.
Loosen the wing screws (35). But do not unscrew
them all the way. (Fig. 7)
2.
Carefully pull the guide rail (7) out from the front
and swivel to the right. (fig. 3, 7)
3.
Open the housing door (2) by unfastening the two
door locks (3 and 8). (fig. 1)
4
Swivel the door arrester (34) inwards in order to
hold the door open. (fig. 7)
5.
Set the quick-release lever, saw belt tension (15)
to "-". (fig. 2, 17)
6.
Turn the adjusting knob for saw belt tension (1) an-
ti-clockwise until the saw band (26) is tensioned.
(fig. 2, 17)
7.
Open the saw band guard (4) by folding it down to
the right. (fig. 7, 19)
8.
Remove the saw band (26) by taking it off from the
saw band rollers and through the slot in the saw
table (24).
9.
Install a new saw band (26) in reverse order.
42 | GB
Make sure that the new saw band is in the cen-
tre on both saw band rollers. The teeth of the saw
band must point downwards in the direction of the
saw table.
10. Turn the adjusting knob for saw belt tension (1)
clockwise until the saw band (26) lightly tensioned.
11. Set the quick-release lever, saw belt tension (15)
to "+". (fig. 2, 17)
12. Turn the adjusting knob for saw belt tension (1)
clockwise until the pointer of the scale is in the
correct tension range. The tension range de-
pends on the technical data of the saw band.
Excessively high tension leads to premature
breakage of the saw band!
13. Fold the door arrester (34) up again. (fig. 7)
14 Close the housing door (2) by locking the two door
locks (3 and 8) again.
9.11 Setting the run of the saw blade (Fig. 20)
The saw band should run centrally on both band
wheels.
1
Loosen the wing screw (17). (fig. 2)
2.
The incline of the top band wheel can be adjusted
using the adjusting knob (28):
Turn the adjusting knob (28) clockwise if the
saw band runs against the front of the saw.
(fig. 2)
Turn the adjusting knob (28) anti-clockwise if
the saw band runs against the back of the saw.
3.
Tighten the wing screw (17) after the adjustments
have been made. (fig. 2)
m Attention! The band wheel must run over the cen-
tre of the band wheel after multiple turns. Visual in-
spection!
9.12 Adjusting the saw band guide (Fig. 2, 17)
You can adjust the top saw band guide (5) with the
help of the adjustment handle on the saw band guard
(27) from 0-205 mm in terms of workpiece height. The
smallest possible distance to the workpiece ensures
optimal belt guidance and safe working.
9.12.1 Setting the thrust bearing mount (Fig. 20)
The counterpressure bearings (31) absorb the feeding
pressure of the workpiece.
Set the position of the thrust bearing mount (distance
between thrust bearing mount and saw band = 0.5 mm
- when moving the saw band by hand, the saw band
must not touch the support roller).
