RF Energy Exposure and Product Safety Guide
CAUTION: Before using this product, read the RF Energy Exposure and Product Safety Guide
that ships with the radio which contains instructions for safe usage and RF energy awareness
and control for compliance with applicable standards and regulation.

Important Safety Instructions

Before using the battery charger, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on the charger and
the battery.
WARNING: Read these instructions carefully and save them for future reference.
To reduce the risk of injury during sudden braking or impact while driving, secure the Travel
Charger and radio in the mounted bracket with the elastic strap securely fastened.
To reduce the risk of injury, charge only the rechargeable authorized batteries. Other
batteries may explode, causing personal injury and damage.
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, only use the accessories recommended
by Motorola Solutions.
To reduce the risk of damage to the electric plug and cord, pull the plug rather than the cord
when disconnecting the charger.
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, do not operate the charger if it is broken or
damaged in any way. Take it to a qualified Motorola Solutions service representative.
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not disassemble the charger. It is not
repairable and replacement parts are not available.

Operational Safety Guidelines

This section provides the operational safety guidelines for the equipment.
CAUTION:
1 Equipment that is not specified for outdoor use must only be used in dry locations.
2 Connect equipment only to an appropriately fused and wired supply of the correct voltage as
specified on the product.
3 Disconnect the power supply cord from the DC outlet when not in use.
4 The equipment shall be connected to a nearby and easily accessible socket outlet.
5 For equipment using fuses, replacements must comply with the type and rating specified in
the equipment instructions.
6 When in use, maximum ambient temperature around the power supply equipment must not
exceed 60 °C (140 °F).
7 Output power from the power supply unit must not exceed the ratings stated on the product
label located at the bottom of the charger.
8 Ensure that the cord is located in an area that is safe from being stepped on, tripped over, or
subjected to water, damage, or stress.
