OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
SUBMERSIBLE PUMP SUB SERIES
3 . INSTALLATION (2)
ENG
The pump can rest on the flat bottom surface of a tank.
When sand or silt deposits are expected to form, mount the pump on a true lower level surface so that
abrasive material is not lifted.
The pump can be kept in a suspended position by the metal supply pipe. Tighten the threaded joints of
the pipes securely to prevent loosening during operation.
Place the pump at least 0.5 m from the bottom of a well to prevent sand from rising.
A safety rope or chain of non-perishable material should always be used to secure a suspended pump.
When using a plastic or flexible delivery pipe, the safety rope or chain should be used to lower, secure
and lift the pump.
WARNING:
Never use the power cord to suspend the pump.
Connect the power cable to the supply pipe and to the safety rope with cable clamps at intervals of
approximately 3 m. The power cable must not be taut: allow a certain degree of slack between the
clamps to avoid the risk of deformation caused by expansion of the tube during operation.
