OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
SERIE NM
1. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
Never operate the electric pump without water. Lack of water could cause severe damage
to internal components.
1.1 START-UP:
Once the hydraulic connections, electrical connections and filling have been completed, check the
direction of rotation before starting the pump.
•
Start the electric pump with the delivery valve closed.
•
Check that the rotation is in the direction indicated by the arrow on the upper bracket,
looking at the motor from the fan side through the slots in the fan housing.
•
If the rotation is incorrect, interrupt the power supply and reverse the position of the
power supply leads from the switchboard.
•
Run the pump two or three times to check the installation conditions.
•
Operating on the delivery side, induce a rapid pressure rise a couple of times.
•
Check that noise, vibrations, pressure and electrical voltage are maintained at normal
levels.
1.2 OPERATION:
Start the pump with the discharge stop valve closed, then open them gradually.
The electric pump should run smoothly and quietly. Close the shut-off valve and check that the pressu-
re reading on the discharge pressure gauge indicates a value close to Hmax on the nameplate.
(The approximation must be mainly attributed to the tolerances and to the possible suction water
pressures). If the pressure read on the pressure gauge is much lower than Hmax, repeat the filling (air
in the pump).
•
Excessive unevenness or excessive head losses in the suction section.
•
Back pressure in discharge section too low.
•
Problems related to liquid temperature.
1.3 STOP:
•
Gradually shut off the water flow on the delivery side to avoid overpressure in the
pipes and pump due to water hammer.
•
Disconnect the power supply.
