4.4 E lectrical C onnections
In o rder c onnect t he u nit t o t he b oat's e lectrical s ystem, p roceed a s f ollows:
-­‐ B efore t urning o n t he a ppliance, c heck t o m ake s ure t hat t he v oltage o f t he e lectrical s ystem a nd/or b attery c omplies w ith
that w hich i s i ndicated o n t he u nit's d ata p late.
-­‐ A lways u se c ables o f a n a dequate c ross-­‐section
(see t he r ecommendations i n t he f ollowing t able).
-­‐ A lways u se n ormal o r t inned m ulti-­‐conductor c opper w ire, s uitable f or m arine e nvironments.
-­‐ C onnect t he r efrigerator d irectly t o t he b attery o r t o t he r elative m ain s witch a nd m ake s ure t hat t he s ystem i s e quipped
with a n e lectric d evice t hat's c apable o f p rotecting t he c ircuit a gainst p ossible o vercurrents.
If t he p ower s upply v oltage i s d ifferent f rom t he 1 2/24Vdc p ower s upply, i nstall a Δ I 0 .03A d ifferential c ircuit b reaker. A void
connecting t he u nit v ia t he b oat's c ontrol p anel a s t his c ould r esult i n v oltage d rops.
-­‐ I nsert a f use u pstream f rom t he r efrigerator ( see t he t able b elow).
-­‐ C onnect t he r ed w ire t o t he e lectrical s ystem's p ositive t erminal, a nd c onnect t he b lack w ire t he n egative t erminal. U se a
pressed l ug t erminal t hat's s uitable f or t he c able's s ize.
-­‐ A s eparate s witch t hat s imultaneously d isconnects t he p ower c ables m ust b e i nstalled u pstream f rom t he r efrigerator.
Check t o m ake s ure t hat t he i nstalled s witch s upports t he c orresponding l oad i ndicated i n t he t able b elow:

electrical c ables.
