II.7.2

PRODUCTION OF DOMESTIC HOT WATER DHW

For the production of domestic hot water by using the heat pump, use a technical water tank, which cannot be used directly for human consumption, and
combine it to a DHW producer. The tank must be installed vertically and secured to the ground with bolts so as to prevent vibrations; it must therefore
never be suspended.
The figure shows an example:

If the connection between the buffer tank and the indoor unit is through
a wall, drill a hole with a ø70 diameter for the water circulation pipe to
pass through. Then connect the water inlet to the unit with the water
outlet from the buffer tank, and the water outlet from the unit with the
water entering the buffer tank. As for water drainage, connect a pipe
section with a drainage outlet to drain the floor. A shut-off valve must be
installed in the middle of the drain pipe and at a point where it is easy
for users to manage it. Once all the connections have been completed,
a leak test must be performed on the circuit.
The DHW production is ensured by the KVDEV kit installed downstream
of the machine. The 3-way valve of the KVDEV kit diverts the water flow
from the system to the technical water storage tank for the system
producing domestic hot water.

II.7.2.1 Optional electrical resistance (KRIT
An optional electrical resistance is an electrical resistance that runs
together or alternately with the heat pump in winter mode. By means of
the unit's control, it is possible to control start-up and switch-off
according to the outdoor air temperature.
When there is a 3-way valve for KVDEV domestic hot water production,
the electrical resistance must be placed upstream of the valve on the
system side. It is always recommended to accurately check the
electrical power available when integrative electrical resistances are
installed. Furthermore, the optional temperature probe supplied must be
installed (length: 5m).
II.7.2.2 Additional source of heat
The additional source of heat is activated by the unit with a 230V signal
when the outdoor temperature is lower than the set-point. The
additional source of heat must be placed upstream of the 3-way valve.
The additional source of heat cannot be used simultaneously with the
optional electrical resistance. Furthermore, the optional temperature
probe supplied must be installed (length: 5m).
