for the selected staple size.
Pre-surgical treatment over the patient deserves high attention.
The staple size should be carefully selected.
2. Purse-string sutures must be placed less than 2.5 mm from the cut edge of the tissue, to
avoid excessive tissue within the closed anvil and cartridge, which may result in staple
malformation or leakage.
3. When piercing tissue with the instrument trocar, the point and puncture site have to be
visualized all the time to prevent inadvertent damage to surrounding structures.
4. It has to be verified before attaching the anvil to the instrument that the Orange Band is
fully visible. If the Orange Band cannot be seen, proper assembly of the instrument and
anvil may not be well obtained.
5.
It has to be made certain that the space between the cartridge and anvil is closed
appropriately and the tissue is compressed. Before firing the instrument, Inspection must
be made to ensure that the red line is
in the middle of the green bar in indicator window.
6. To fire the instrument, the red safety below the handle has to be released first, and then
the handle must be firmly squeezed to its limit. When firing the instrument, make sure that a
reduced trigger pressure is felt and a "crunch" is heard as the instrument completes the
firing cycle. Partial or incomplete handle squeezes may result in unacceptable staple
formation and/or incomplete knife cut. This may result in intraoperative leaks.
7. When opening the stapler prior to removal, open the instrument four to four and a
half revolutions.
8. After the removal of stapler, always inspect the staple line for hemostasis and the
anastomosis must always be checked for integrity. Minor bleeding can be controlled by
means of electrocautery or manual sutures.
9. Dispose of the instrument after tissue specimens are taken from the shaft.
10. The tissue specimens ("donuts") should be inspected to verify that all tissue layers have
been incorporated in the anastomosis. If the specimens are not complete, a leak could
result and cause narrowing.
11. Do not reuse any components of disposable instruments.
12. Application of an improperly matched instrument and anvil combination will lead to
staple malformation or failure of proper cut. Malformed staples may compromise the
integrity of the staple line, which may result in leakage or disruption.
13.
This device is provided STERILE. Each instrument is designed for use in a SINGLE
procedure only. DISCARD AFTER USE. DO NOT RESTERILIZATION.
