HOW TO START THE APPLIANCE
- Insert the plug into the outlet. Turn the thermostat to "steam" position, Fig. C.
- When the warning light (5) goes on, the iron is heating up.
- Wait for about 4-5 minutes until the warning light goes off.
- now you may start to iron.
STEAM OUTFLOW
The steam outflow may be DISCONTINUOUS or CONTINUOUS.
- DISCONTINUOUS steam: press the push button (4) Fig. D by applying more or less strength according to the amount of
steam desired.
- CONTINUOUS steam: turn the steam control knob (2) in a clockwise direction (Fig. E) to obtain a constant and continuous
steam outflow. Maximum intensity is obtained when the knob is fully turned.
- Maximum intensity can also be obtained in the automatic steam outflow mode by fully pressing the steam push button
(4).
- never overturn the iron or tilt it forward or laterally while it is being used either in the discontinuous or continuous mode.
Attention!
Always stop the steam outflow before resting the iron on the separate stand (10).
NEVER UNSCREW THE SAFETY CAP (1) WHILE THE IRON IS BEING USED. ALWAYS TURN OFF THE IRON FIRST
BY TURNING THE THERMOSTAT KNOB TO "MINIMUM", REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE OUTLET AND FULLY PRESS
THE PUSH BUTTON (4) AS TO LET OUT ALL THE RESIDUAL STEAM.
HOW TO FILL THE BOILER WHILE THE APPLIANCE IS BEING USED
If you need to fill the boiler during the ironing session, the following operations should be carried out:
- Switch off the iron by turning the thermostat knob to "MINIMUM".
- remove the plug from the outlet.
- Fully press the push button (4) as to let out all the residual steam.
- Unscrew the boiler's safety cap (1). This operation is made easier with the cap remover supplied (3), which helps you get
a better grip on the cap and protects against accidental burns.
- Pour a small amount of water into the boiler for 2 or 3 times to allow the steam to come out of the filling tube.
Afterwards, fill the boiler as usual.
n.B.: remember that the amount of water to be poured into the boiler while the iron is being used should never
exceed 210 cc as indicated on the measure. to be sure that the right quantity of water is poured into the boiler,
always drain the tank first.
- screw the safety cap on tightly.
- Insert the plug into the outlet.
- steaming will recommence after a short time.
DRY IRONING
- First make sure there is no water in the boiler. otherwise, stop the steaming by completely turning the steam control knob
(2) in an anticlockwise direction.
- Select the iron temperature best suited for the fabric to be ironed by means of the thermostat knob (Fig. C). Refer to the
table below.
SUGGESTIONS
Divide the articles to be ironed according to the types of material: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc.
Because the iron heats up much more quickly than it cools down, it is advisable to start with those fabrics which require
lower temperatures and move on to those which require progressively higher temperatures.
If the material is made up of more than one type of fibre, always set the temperature to the fibre which requires less heat.
For example, if the material is made up of 70% synthetics and 30% cotton, set the temperature control to position (5-6) (see
table) without steam, that is, the temperature for synthetic fabrics.
If you do not know the composition of the article to be ironed, choose a part of the article which will not be seen. Do a test
ironing on this part to establish the appropriate temperature (always start with a relatively low temperature and work up until
the ideal temperature is reached). Pure (100%) wool articles can be ironed with the iron set to one of the steam positions.
To avoid pure wool, silk and synthetic materials becoming shiny, it makes good sense to iron them on the reverse side. For
