The Face Former therapy, named after Berndsen / Berndsen,
is a neuro-physiological concept which treats the cause
behind a problem. Important elements of the therapy are:
Activation of breathing, functions of the lower
and upper airways
Activation of interactive muscle chain functions
Stimulation of cranial nerve functions
Pattern formation in the brain
Function corrections
Function harmonisation
Strengthening of orofacial and pharyngeal musculature
Optimisation of craniocervical balance and sensomotoric
Optimisation of body balance
Stimulation of metabolism
Face Former therapy involves exercises for tensing and
relaxing muscles, correction of functions and functional
changes as well as activation of cranial nerve functions.
Guided movements and negative pressure build-up in the
mouth and pharyngeal cavity are essential elements for
achieving these aims.
