Figure 1:
The communication unit has a built-in battery-
buffered RAM for storing the tightening re-
sults. When power is turned off, the data is
saved due to the battery buffer. However, the
data will be lost in the "No batt" mode or
when the battery is fully discharged.
If the storage function is not needed, no bat-
tery is required. In this case, the jumper must
be moved from "Batt active" to "No batt"
(Fig.2).
Figure 2:
If the battery has run down, an error message
is generated.

To exchange the battery, proceed as follows:
– Carry out data storage (when the battery
is exchanged, all data stored in the memo-
ry module are lost).
– Remove the used up battery. Slightly lift
the holder with a screwdriver (see illustra-
tion) and push out the battery. Remove the
battery with your fingers.
Under no circumstances remove
the battery with a conductive tool
(e.g. tweezers) – danger of short
circuit.
– Insert a new battery: the positive terminal
must face the holder (upward). To insert,
slightly lift the holder and push in the bat-
tery.
– Reset the real-time clock (operating pro-
gram).
The following is a list of the recommended
