The analyzer will then display the one of the following results for the
diode ripple test.

DIODE The charging system is functioning within its
RIPPLE normal operating range.
NORMAL
EXCESS One or more diodes in the alternator are not
RIPPLE functioning or there is stator damage, which is
shown by an excessive amount of AC or ripple
DETECTED
current supplied to the battery.
Make sure the alternator mounting is sturdy and
that the belts are in good shape and functioning
properly. If the mounting and belts are good,
replace the alternator.
DIODE The analyzer is not able to detect diode ripple
RIPPLE through the battery cables, or the alternator is not
NOT spinning.
