OPTIONAL UPGRADE: STARTING/
CHARGING SYSTEM TEST

STARTING SYSTEM TEST

You can extend the capabilities of your Micro740 Digital Battery
Analyzer to include a starting/charging system test. Contact
Midtronics Customer Service at 1-800-776-1995 for information.
After viewing the SOC Pack Test results (Full System Test), press
ENTER at the prompt for the starting system test. You will be
prompted to start the engine.
After the voltage rises, the Micro740 will display one of the following
results (with measured voltage, if applicable).

Result
Recommendation
CRANKING
The SOC is good and the cranking voltage is good.
VOLTAGE Press ENTER to perform the charging system test.
NORMAL
CRANKING The SOC is good, but the cranking voltage is
VOLTAGE below normal limits; troubleshoot the starter. Refer
LOW to vehicle's service manual for general information
on diagnosing alternator and starter problems.
CHARGE The SOC is low and the cranking voltage is too low
BATTERY to perform a starter test. The batteries must be
charged before testing the starter. Press ENTER to
perform the charging system test, or charge the
batteries and retest.
