7.5.1. Cleaning the housing and foot control
Before cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the housing and foot control. Avoid the use of
chemical solutions and cleaning products because these may damage the sur-
face or markings of the machine.
7.5.2. Cleaning the feeder
It is necessary to keep the fabric feeder teeth clean to ensure perfect sew-
ing. Remove the needle (26) and the presser foot (28) (see Page 71 ff.).
Remove the screws on the needle plate (12) to remove the needle plate
from the machine.
Use a brush to remove dust and loose threads from the feeder teeth.
Replace the needle plate (12).
7.5.3. Cleaning and oiling the bobbin housing
Move the needle (26) to its highest position, otherwise the shuttle cannot
be removed.
Remove the bobbin case.
Turn the snap lever outwards as illustrated and remove the shuttle track
ring.
Remove the shuttle by holding the pin in the centre of the shuttle.
Remove all dirt from the shuttle track ring of the shuttle track and oil the
parts using a cloth.
