2. Safety information

2.1. Keep electrical equipment out of reach of children

• This machine may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities or by those without experience and/or knowledge, if
they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the machine and have un-
derstood the potential risks. Do not allow children to play with the machine. Cleaning
and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8
years of age and are supervised.
• Children younger than 8 should be kept away from the machine and the mains cable.
DANGER!
Risk of suffocation!
Plastic wrapping can be swallowed or misused leading to a risk of suffocation!
 Keep packaging material such as plastic film or plastic bags away from chil-
dren.

2.2. Mains cable and mains connection

• Only connect the machine to a socket (220–240 V ~ 50 Hz) that is easy to reach and close
to the set-up location. The socket must be freely accessible so that you can unplug the
machine from the mains quickly if necessary.
• When you unplug the machine, always take hold of the plug itself, not the cable.
• Fully unwind the cable during use.
• The mains cable and extension cable must be positioned so that no-one can trip over
them.
• The cable must not come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Pull out the mains plug if you leave the machine unattended. This will prevent accidents
caused by accidental switching on.
• Before performing the following tasks, switch off and unplug the sewing machine:
Threading, changing the needle, setting the presser foot, replacing the light bulb, clean-
ing and maintenance work, when you have finished sewing, and if you take a break from
work.

2.3. General information

• Do not allow the sewing machine to get wet – there is a risk of injury due to electric
shock!
• Never leave the sewing machine unattended while it is switched on.
• Do not use the machine out of doors.
• Do not use the sewing machine in wet or humid environments or when it is wet.
• The machine may only be operated with the supplied foot
