welding or flame cutting, clean these lines and tanks thoroughly with nonflammable
solvent.
Electrical wires must be properly routed and securely attached. Check the
electrical wires everyday. Repair the wires which are loose or frayed before operating
the engine. Clean and tighten the electrical connections.
Generator set must be properly grounded according to related regulations.
Don't use the wires and cables which are smaller than the recommended gauge.
Never bypass the fuses and circuit breakers.
Arcing and sparking could result in fires. Secure connections, recommended
wirings and properly maintained battery cables will help to prevent arcing and
sparking.
Inspect hoses for wear or deterioration. These hoses must be properly routed
and tightened according to recommended torque. Leaks could cause fires.
Be careful and don't smoke when you are refueling an engine. Never refuel the
engine near flames and sparks. Always stop the engine before refueling.
Gases from a battery can explode. Never smoke in battery charging areas.
Never charge a frozen battery, or else it may cause an explosion.
The batteries must be kept clean.
Use only dry chemical or carbon dioxide extinguishers on electrical fires. Inspect
and service the fire extinguisher regularly. Make sure that the fire extinguisher is
available. Be familiar with the operation of the fire extinguisher.
1.4 Mechanical Protection
The moving parts may cause serious injury or death. The generator set is
designed with guards for protection from moving parts. Care must still be taken to
protect personnel and equipment from other mechanical hazards when working
around the generator set.
Keep hands, arms, long hair, loose clothing and jewelers away from pulleys, belts
and other moving parts. When the generator set is running, some moving parts can't
be seen clearly.
Keep access doors on enclosures closed and locked when not required to be
open.
Wear protective clothing including gloves and hat when working around the
generator set.

1.5 Noise Protection

Generator sets which are not equipped with sound attenuating enclosures can
produce noise levels in excess of 105 dB. Prolonged exposure to noise levels above
85dB is hazardous to hearing.
Never operate the generator set without muffler or with a faulty exhaust system.
It's required ear protection when operating or working around an operating
generator set.
1.6 Installation and Moving Protection
The hoisting devices are appropriate for the required tasks.
Ensure that hoisting devices and support structure are in good condition and
