When used in combination with the davitrac self-stabilising
base, the davitrac jib crane may be used as a temporary
fall protection anchor point for two 150 kg operators in
accordance with EN 795-B:2012 and CEN/TS 16415:2013;
this assembly is PPE and may be fitted with
• fall arrest systems in accordance with EN 363:2002,
• rescue
lifting
devices
EN 1496:2017 type A or B,
• rope-suspended working devices in accordance with
Directive 2001/45/EC.
In such a configuration, it may not be used
simultaneously as an anchor point for lifting equipment.
In this configuration, when the anchoring head (ref.
A, fig. 2) of the jib is in position P1 (fig. 1) and its
PPE anchor point is subjected to the maximum force
in the event of a fall, the maximum displacement, or
deflection, of the anchor point is 60 mm.
OR
The davitrac jib crane may be used as a lifting anchor
point in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/
EC; in such a configuration, only one operator can
connect to one of the anchor points on the articulation
plate (ref. I2, fig 2).
This self-supporting assembly may be used in narrow
spaces with no bearing structure. The self-stabilising
base is made of aluminium and steel for a total weight of
53 kg divided into 3 subassemblies. The self-stabilising
base is width-adjustable, with 2 positions (Table 1).
4.1. Recommendations for use:
IMPORTANT: davitrac has 4 anchor points. Each
of these anchor points is identified by a label that
mentions its only possible and permitted use: it is
crucial to follow the instructions on such labels.
IMPORTANT: davitrac has two pulleys on the
anchoring head, one of which is for use with PPE and
the other is intended for lifting applications.
3 of these 4 anchor points and one of these 2 pulleys
are intended for PPE use. They may only be used as
part of a PPE system. They may not be used for lifting
equipment (fig. 2).
1 anchor point and 1 pulley are intended for lifting and
must only be used as part of a lifting system. They may
not be used for PPE (fig. 2).
CAUTION: Under no circumstances may the floor-
standing, wall and offset wall-mounted bases be used
as fall arrest anchor points when the davitrac jib crane
is installed inside one of them. It is imperative that once
the davitrac jib crane is installed and locked into one of
in
accordance
with
the mentioned permanent bases, the only anchor points
allowed are those on the davitrac jib crane.
When the davitrac jib crane is used in conjunction with
the davitrac self-stabilising base:
• It is strictly forbidden to move a load suspended from
the davitrac jib crane outside the inside perimeter of
the self-stabilising base.
• The davitrac jib crane must not be rotated under any
circumstances with loads between 150 kg and 500
kg (fig. 8a).
• The davitrac jib crane may only be rotated by 180°
if the load is under 150 kg (fig. 8b), by temporarily
removing the mast rotation locking rod (P, fig. 2).
Replace the mast rotation locking rod after completing
the operation.
• The angle of the load lifting cable from the upright
position should not exceed 1° for loads between 150
kg and 500 kg. (See fig. 9a.)
• The angle of the load lifting cable from the upright
position should not exceed 15° for loads under 150
kg (fig. 9b).
4.1.1. PPE and rescue
davitrac is designed to receive brackets equipped for
rescue lifting devices and fall protection systems that
