Induction clamp
The induction clamp is equipped with a switch for the adjustment of the signal reading
sensitivity which can be put on two positions:
•
Standard sensitivity
•
Reduced sensitivity
This problem can be caused by different reasons:
•
Plug connections shielded with too a high resistance.
•
High distribution of the coil.
•
Too high or too low distance of the electrodes from plugs.
•
Close or not insulated plug wires.
•
Wet plug wires, etc.
To overcome these problems, besides acting directly on the above mentioned defects
and after a careful control of the correct connection of the induction clamp to the plug
wire of 1st cylinder it is possible to decrease the induction clamp sensitivity by turning
the switch to the reduced position.
SERVICE MANUAL
Under ordinary functioning conditions the clamp switch is
turned to the standard sensitivity.
However, in some cases the reading of the engine
revolutions carried out by the Timing Light might turned
out to be completely wrong; for instance, while keeping
the engine charge constant the instrument reading is
not constant at all but, on the contrary, it measures
revolutions values ranging from very low to very high
values.
