Advance with timing light

Start the vehicle to be tested.
Set the gun in the diesel mode: hold down the key (8) until displaying of the
message DIESEL.
After carrying out the connections to the engine, press the Timing Light/sensor
key (8) and make sure the Timing Light advance degrees led (2) turns on.
Take the engine to the working temperature at the rpm indicated by the
manufacturer trying to keep it as stable as possible.
Ten seconds after the rpm display wait 7-8 seconds more to allow a correct
reading of the advance.
Aim the timing light to the fixed and movable TDC reference mark and hold down
the FLASH key (11); the flash starts flashing.
Rotate the Deviator (10) until the above marks coincide.
Release the FLASH key (11) when the marks coincide the flashing stops and the
displayed values are stored for about 10 seconds thus allowing an accurate reading
of revolutions and degrees.
Read the advance angle and compare it to the manufacturer's data
(within the tolerance thresholds). In case the displayed values do not coincide
(within the tolerance thresholds) adjust the pump orientation.
For the correct functioning of the Timing Light the Piezoelectric transducer (18) will
have to be mounted as close as possible to the injector and in a straight section of the
pipe of at least a 2 cm length.
In case the following message is displayed:
LS (Low Signal)
Moderately tighten the screw on the Piezoelectric transducer.
HS (High Signal)
Loosen the screw on the Piezoelectric transducer.
