a) Line up the attaching part(s) (label 9, 10) so
that the attachment hole(s) overlie the hole(s)
in the anchoring device (label 4).
b) Place the warning plate between the host

structure (label 8, 16) and the bearing sur-
face of the anchoring device (label 2), then
line up the warning plate hole (label 18)
with an anchoring device attachment hole
(label 4).
c) Depending on the case, attach the anchor-
ing device using one or two bolts (label 9,
10, 11) for a metal host structure (label 8);
or using one or two screws or M12 thread-
ed rods (label 9, 10, 11) for use with anchor
plugs if attaching to a concrete surface
(label 16).
IMPORTANT: It is imperative to insert a
stainless steel M12 washer (label 11) be-
tween the body of the anchoring device (la-
bel 3) and the screw head or attachment nut
(label 9, 10).
d) Tighten the M12 attachment(s) (label 9, 10)
using one or two 19mm wrenches.
e) If the Tractel
is a the travsafe™ PAS or travsafe™ ring-
safe, position the device such that it is an-
gled in the recommended direction specified
in figure 5.
f) Tighten the attachment(s) (label 9, 10, 11) to
the torque recommended above.
g) On the label indicating the next inspection
date (label 19), stamp or write in indelible ink
the month and year that the first periodic in-
spection was conducted, and then place this
label in the space marked "aa" on the warning
plate (label 18)
h) In the space marked "ae" on the warning
plate, write in indelible ink the date of the
equipment's initial entry into service, and
then sign (also in indelible ink) in the box
provided.
Installation complete.

"DANGER": It is imperative to attach the
travsafe
PA anchoring device using two M12
TM
attachments (label 9, 10, 11).
• If the fall-prevention anchoring device to be in-
stalled is the Tractel
a) Clean the plate surface (label 8) around the
M12 tapped-thread hole to be used for attach-
ing (label 12).
b) Stick the marking label (label 17) onto the
plate, with the M12 attachment hole in the
centre (label 12).
c) Insert the M12 threaded rod (label 4), which will
serve to attach the anchoring device, into the
M12 tapped-thread hole in the plate (label 12).
d) Tighten the anchoring device manually until its
bearing surface (label 2) is in contact with the
plate surface (label 8).
e) Place a 19mm spanner into the anchoring
device ring (figure 1, label 1) and tighten the
ring to orient it as required, as recommended
in figure 5.
"DANGER": The ring must never be rotat-
ed more than half a turn, as this would risk
breaking the M12 rod (label 4).
f) Stick the warning label (fig 3, lbl. 20) onto the
plate (label 8) as close to the anchor point as
possible, or - if installing the equipment onto a
post - on the side of the post.
g) On the label indicating the next inspection
date (label 19), stamp or write in indelible ink
the month and year that the first periodic in-
spection was conducted, and then place this
label in the space marked "aa" on the warning
label (label 20).
h) In the space marked "ae" on the warning la-
bel, write in indelible ink the date of the equip-
ment's initial entry into service, and then sign
(also in indelible ink) in the box provided.
Installation complete.
