or shortening is hot enough for the next portion. If the
dot is still on, do not add the next portion. Wait until
the audible signal sounds and the dot in the display
goes out.
Deep-fry the next portion.
3.
Note: Deep-fry frozen food in small portions. If you don't,
the shortening or oil will cool too quickly. Example:
Frozen french fries: 7 cups (1.5 l) shortening or oil, about
1 cup (150 g) french fries per portion.

Cooking tips
Food frozen in blocks
Cooking foods that produce a
lot of water (e.g. fish fillet)
Foods that tend to produce a
lot of foam (such as noodles)
Thickening food
If food does not cook evenly
(e.g. potatoes)
No signal sounds
Place the frozen block, e.g. spinach, in the pot. Add liquid according to the manu-
facturer's instructions. Put the lid on the pot. Select 70 °C as the temperature range.
Stir occasionally.
Cook with less water than ususal. Always cook with the lid on.
Cook with the lid on with foods that tend to produce a lot of foam. This saves
energy.
Cook the food that you are preparing at the recommended temperature range. After
adding the ingredients that will be used for thickening the food, thicken the liquid at
175-195 °F (80- 90° C).
Use more liquid the next time you cook that particular food.
Always put a lid on the pot. Then the regulating function will work best.
