3) Fit the front grass protection (fig.1 for HWT600, fig. 7 for HWT550 TILT, n°12)
4) Fit the handlebars.
5) In the model HWT550 TILT fit the inclination control rod of the cutting head (fig.1A n°11).
6) Fill in the engine oil (see engine manual)
7) Fill up the petrol tank
Before starting the engine always check:
- the oil level inside the engine. The level cap is on the top casing (fig. 4) and the oil level must be
between the two rims.
- that all nuts and bolts are firmly tightened.
- that all levers are in neutral position.
- that the air filter is clean.
- fill the tank with fuel using a funnel with a very fine filter. Once the engine has started, release the
choke and accelerate gradually. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before starting
work.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
STARTING THE ENGINE
Open the fuel tap and set the throttle lever in the mid position. If the engine is cold set the lever to the
starter position (follow the instructions in the engine manual). Pull the pull-start handle slowly until
resistance is felt, then give a sharp pull (always follow the instructions in the engine manual (fig. 1, no.
3).
STARTING WORK
Put the engine to the maximum speed. Make sure there are no people around the cutting area. Set
the wire rotation lever and start working. (fig.1 no. 2)
CAUTION: When the lever (fig.1 no. 2) is set the tool starts rotating. IN CASE OF DANGER
IMMEDIATELY RELEASE THE LEVER. (fig.1 no. 2) THE TOOL WILL STOP IMMEDIATELY.
The HWT600 model is self-propelled. To engage the wheel traction use the lever (fig. 2 no. 9).
Releasing the lever, the machine stops.
In the HWT550 TILT model is possible to
fit the inclination of the cutting head to the right or to the left
to perform a ground cutting (fig. 1A, n. 11 e fig. 7)
WARNING: never leave the machine unattended and/or near children or people who haven't read the
manual or who haven't received instructions for a safe and appropriate use of the machine.
FINISHING WORK
To stop the engine move the throttle lever (fig. 1, n. 1) to the stop limit position (fig. 1B) and turn the
fuel tap off.
REPLACING THE STRINGS
Replace the strings when worn out.
CAUTION: Never replace the strings with the engine running.
The cutting diameter is of 60 cm. Check the length of the strings before replacing them and make sure
they do not come in touch with the machine while rotating.
