Disposable Filter bag
(Not standard with all models)
1. Use for dry pick up only. Use in conjunction with cartridge filter for picking up soot,
cement, plaster or drywall dust.
2. With cord disconnected from receptacle, pull latches in an outward motion and remove
tank cover.
3. Unscrew hose locking-nut and remove hose from inlet (Figure 15).
4. Remove inlet deflector from deflector guide (Figure 16). Note: hose must be removed
before inlet deflector can be taken out.
5. With the opening of the inlet deflector facing the left or right side of the filter bag, slide
filter bag collar over deflector matching notches of bag collar to tabs on inlet deflector,
bag will only fit properly one way (Figure 17).
6. Slide deflector with collection bag attached into deflector guide (Figure 18).
7. Reinsert hose into inlet and tighten locking-nut (Figure 19).
8. When secured in place, expand bag and position around the inside of tank.
9. Replace tank cover.
Note: When removing filter bag from tank, remove inlet deflector from filter bag collar and
reinstall into deflector guide. Inlet deflector should always be in place for any type of cleaning.

Wet Pick up
Remove ALL dry pick up filters. Wet pick up requires only a foam sleeve or cartridge filter be in
position over the lid cage. Do not use dry use filters for wet pick up. When picking up several
tanks full of liquid, the filter will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust
air. At this time, you should dry the filter or change to a dry filter to eliminate the misting and
possible dripping of liquid around the lid. After completing a wet pick up job, raise the hose to
drain any excess liquid into tank before shutting off the vac. The interior of the tank should be
periodically rinsed clean.
Note: Wet pick up accessories should be washed periodically with soap and water, especially
after picking up wet, sticky liquids.
Power Tool Outlet
Do noT plug any Tool or appliance raTeD over 8 amps
inTo The ouTleT on The vacuum cleaner. check name-
plaTe of The Tool for The amp raTing. To reDuce The
risk of injury, Tool musT be TurneD off before plac-

3 Position Power Switch
Position "O" (Center) - Off
Position "I" (UP) - Vacuum Only On
Position "Auto" (Down) - Vacuum automatically starts when power tool plugged into outlet is
triggered. Vacuum will shut off when power tool is turned off (after a brief delay to clear the
hose.)
Set-up
1. Refer to the Assembly section in this manual to select the correct hose for this application.
Connect vacuum hose to tool's dust collection port.
2. With the power switch in the "O" (off) position, plug power cord of the tool (also turned off)

Operation
Whenever the power tool is turned on the vacuum will start. When the power tool is turned
off there will be a delay to clear the hose, and the vacuum will stop. The time of the delay will
vary with the amount of current drawn from the utility outlet (Figure 20).
Utility Outlet Load vs. Vacuum Performance
The unique design of the feature of this unit will cause the vacuum performance to vary with
the amount of current drawn from the utility outlet. The electronic circuit automatically adjusts
the power of the vacuum unit to compensate for the power being drawn from the utility outlet.
This adjustment allows the total system current draw to stay within the safety regulatory
agencies maximum of 12 Amps. Whatever the amount of current being drawn for utility work,
the remainder of the 12 Amps is allotted to the vacuum unit to provide the maximum allow-
able vacuum performance during the work. As soon as the utility work stops - the vacuum
returns to full power during the delay period before turning off.
Automatic Shutoff
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an automatic shutoff that operates when picking up
liquids. When the liquid in the tank reaches a certain level, an internal float will seat itself
against a seal at the intake of the motor, shutting off suction. When this happens, the motor
will develop a higher than normal pitch noise indicating that you need to switch off the vac
and empty the liquid.
Note: If accidently tipped over, the vacuum could lose suction. If this occurs, place vac in
upright position and turn switch off. This will allow the float to return to its normal position,
and you will be able to continue operation.
Emptying Tank
Use special care when emptying heavily loaded tanks. Liquid waste may be emptied by
removing the tank cover. To empty, stop the motor and remove the plug from the wall recep-
tacle. Remove the tank cover and deposit the liquid waste contents in a suitable drain. After
tank is empty, return the cover to its original position. To continue use, plug the cord into the
wall receptacle and turn the unit on.
BE SURE TO DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO SERVICE
OR REMOVE ANY COMPONENTS.
Storage
Before storing the vacuum cleaner, always empty and clean the tank. Never allow debris to sit
in the tank for any extended period of time. Always store the vacuum cleaner indoors.
Lubrication
No lubrication is necessary as the motor is equipped with lifetime lubricated bearings.
Service
Do not attempt to service your wet/dry vacuum cleaner beyond that described in this manual.
Refer all other servicing to a qualified service center.
This unit incorporates electronic circuitry. It is recommended that repair or parts replacement
be performed by a skilled technician.
