INSTRUCTION OF THE USER
1. Identify the biological indicator to be treated.
THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT HOW TO ACTIVATE, TEMPERATURE AND DAUER OF
INCUBATION ARE INCLUDED IN THE USER' MANUAL OF THE BIOLOGICAL INDICATOR
2. Insert the biological indicator into the sterilizer.
3. Perform the sterilization cycle.
4. Remove the biological indicator from the sterilizer.
5. Let the biological indicator cool for at least 10 minutes.
6. Check the colour change to be sure that the sterilization has been properly carried
out because the chemical indicator changes colour when it is subjected to steam.
7. Break the glass bulb of the biological indicator which is inside the thermoplastic
container. Perform this operation just a minute before inserting the indicator in the
incubator. The indicator must be inserted in the incubator within and not beyond 1 hour
from the moment it was removed from the sterilizer.
8. Insert the biological indicator in the incubator's heating unit.
9. Check the biological indicator at regular intervals to control the changing of colour.
10. Incubate the biological indicator using as a reference an indicator not treated in a
sterilisation cycle.
11. For the detailed procedure carefully read the instructions for use which are inside
the packaging biological indicators.
