The cooking time is measured from this
point.
After the cooking time has passed, remove
the lid following the instructions below:
a) Place the pressure cooker in the sink
under a gentle stream of running
water (fig.10). After a few seconds,
when vapour ceases to escape from
the working valve and the pressure
indicator has returned to its normal
position inside the lid (Fig. 1/11), press
the button (fig. 4).
b) It is also possible to decompress the
cooker by gradually moving the working
valve to the decompression position
(fig.7). After a few seconds, when the
pressure indicator has returned to its
normal position, press the button (fig.4).
7) MAINTENANCE
• After each use, wash the pan with hot
soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and dry.
• Wash the lid with water only and dry immediately.
IMPORTANT
Valves
Before each use:
• Check that the vapour outlets are clean
and free from obstructions. It is essential
to clean the automatic valves (fig. 2)
thoroughly in the following way:
To remove the automatic valve:
- Set the pressure selector to
decompression position (Fig.7).
- Lift the automatic selector or valve
(Fig.12).
- Turn the selector to the f position
(Fig.13).
– Remove the valve and clean under a
pressured jet of water.
– Check and clean the nozzle outlet with
pressurised water and/or by passing a
needle through the orifice.
If the safety valve is triggered (Fig.3),
excessive pressure is removed as vapour
is expelled from the side of the lid handle
(Fig.11). If this happens, proceed as follows:
• Remove from heat.
• Remove the lid (following the working
and safety instructions).
• Check to see if the working valve is
clean and free from obstruction.

• In the event of repeated occurrences,
contact your nearest Technical
Assistance Centre.
Safety valve:
Check from the inside of the lid that the safe-
ty valve is not obstructed or dirty. Push the
seal ball of the safety valve, using the prong
of a small fork or similar object, inwards,
checking that it opens and closes normally,
propelled by the inner spring.
WARNING
• Never use abrasive detergents.
• Never wash the lid and gasket in the
dishwasher.
• We recommend that you grease the
gasket with a little vegetable oil every
once in a while.
• Do not leave the lid closed after using
the pressure cooker.
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow these
instructions, using the pressure cooker
with the valve or valves obstructed, may
cause the pressure cooker to decom-
press due to operation of the gasket seal
and part of the contents of the pressure
cooker being pushed out.
8) SOME PRACTICAL ADVICE
If you notice that:
* No vapour is coming from the working
valve.
It is possible that:
- There is not enough liquid in the pan.
Check and add more if required.
- The gasket is dirty or damaged. Wash or
replace.
- The heat source is not strong enough.
- The automatic working valve is obstructed.
Clean it.
* Vapour is escaping from the working
valve.
It is possible that:
- The heat source is too strong. Reduce to
the minimum setting or move to a smaller
burner or hotplate.
- The working valve is in the decompression
position. Select a cooking pressure.
