user belongs is responsible for producing documentation and
recording all the necessary information.
11.) Regular checks
Regular checks are necessary, since the safety of the user depends
on the effectiveness and durability of the equipment. We recommend
that you keep a written record of these checks. SKYLOTEC provides
„HOMEBASE" for this purpose ('HOMEBASE' is an online PPE
Management system : https://homebase.skylotec.com ). The operator
must ensure that the climbing protection system and the runners are
checked by a qualified person, according to the manufacturer's
instructions to ensure that they are in perfect working condition. This
check should take place at least once a year or as required by legal
requirements, frequency of use, environmental conditions and
operational conditions. The legibility of product labelling should also
be checked at the same time. If the runner fails the visual and
functional check, it must be withdrawn from use immediately. If there
is any doubt, the runner can be sent to SKYLOTEC for testing. Since
textile parts are subject to ageing, in the interests of user safety, the
shock absorber must be replaced after a maximum of 10 years after
its first use.
