Depending on the construction situation, attention should be paid
to individual fall protection even during set-up. The working area
(effective direction of the fall) has a radius that extends 45° to the
vertical, as shown in Fig. 2. Lateral swinging as a result of the
ascent or descent (or fall direction in the worst case) not being
vertically aligned (45°) with the anchor point must be prevented
under all circumstances.
The anchor cable or anchor loop must only be used for the purposes
explained in this document. No changes must be made to the
products.
Equipment that was used during a fall must be removed from use
immediately. In individual cases, the general service life of
equipment must be assessed by experts within the scope of tests.
For textiles (e.g. the HERCULES Loop) this is a maximum of 6
years.
Inspection and cleaning (use warm (40°C) slightly soapy water,
then rinse thoroughly with clean water and leave the product to dry
naturally, keeping it away from direct heat) by qualified specialist
staff (experts) must be carried out at least once a year, and more
frequently in case of intensive use, including inspection of the
individual anchor cables. Repairs must be carried out by service
centres authorised by SKYLOTEC.
2.) Overview
2.1) HERCULES Loop L-0001-X, L-0664-X (X=length)
The HERCULES anchor cable has been type-tested in its various
lengths in accordance with EN 795/B for use by one person, and
also tested for use by three people in accordance with CEN/TS
16415.
The maximum test load is: 22.2kN

2.1.1) Installation:
In accordance with the maximum test load of the HERCULES loop,
the structure to which the loop is attached must be able to support
a load of at least 9 kN.
In any case, it must be ensured that the loop is not attached to
any "open" structure (such as the end of a steel girder) from which
it could slip out under load.
