2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive 89/336/EEC for
electromagnetic compatibility and the low voltage di-
rective 73/23/EEC.
It is essential to observe in any case the following
items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 35 °C).
In the area of the lamp compartment, the unit heats
up very much during operation. Do not touch this
area during operation or let the unit cool down for
several minutes after switching off before touching it.
Do not look directly into the light source during oper-
ation of the unit.
Do not insert anything into the vents. This could re-
sult in an electric shock!
Do not set the unit into operation, and immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if:
1. damage can be seen at the unit or mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,

3. there are malfunctions.
Attention!
The unit is supplied with hazardous mains voltage
(230 V~). Inexpert handling may cause an electric
shock hazard. In any case the unit must be re-
paired by skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or authorized, skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable, always seize the plug.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use
any chemicals or water. It is also possible to use
commercial glass detergents for the lenses and the
mirror.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is not correctly installed or operated or
not repaired in an expert way, there is no liability for
resulting personal damage or material damage and
no guarantee for the unit can be taken over.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, it
must be taken to a local recycling plant for a dispo-
sal which is not harmful to the enviroment.
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and yel-
low.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
The music-controlled scanner LE-306 is suitable for
applications on stage and in clubs or discothèques.
The unit projects various, multicoloured light patterns
e. g. on a wall or on the dancing floor.
The light effect unit is not suitable for permanent
operation. An uninterrupted operation of max. 1 hour
is allowed.
