21.2. WEAR AND TEAR

The individual components of the nursing home bed must be examined for scouring,
scratches or other types of wear in the context of an inspection and function control,
and the cause must be determined and rectified by the replacement of the individual
in the correct manner. Pay particular attention to safety-relevant parts of the nursing
home beds.

21.3. FUNCTIONALITY

a function control using the Sections "Function Control" and "Description of Nursing
Home Beds – Functions" in these instructions for use.
21.4. BGV A3/VDE 0751 – 1:2008 – 8 / DIN EN 62353 : 2008 –
INSPECTIONS OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE HANDSET
Test of whether the power units move in and out correctly, and whether the unit and
handset remain in flawless condition with respect to:
Checking of mechanics (screws, bolts etc. are tight, parts, labels undamaged, etc.)
Condition of cables, housing, etc. (cables crossed, squashed, etc.)
Function Test
Visual inspection
Sufficient cable relief and protection from buckling
Discharge current test
PE conductor test for models in class of protection I
Insulation test if necessary

21.5. CASTORS

Test of functionality of castors (moving – braking) and the removal of possibly accumulated
dust, threads, hair or similar that may have been caught in the castors. If necessary the castor

If used, cleaned, serviced and repaired correctly, a useful life for our products of 10 to 15
years can be expected. Excluded from this are wearing parts such as castors, pneumatic
springs, electrical components, etc.
