n EROM repeat flexion
The special „EROM repeat flexion" func-
tion allows a more efficient exercise in
the last 10 ° before the set maximum
flexion value.
For this protocol, the CPM device starts
in the middle between the set extension
and flexion values.
It will first move to the programmed
extension value and then to the pro-
grammed flexion value.
When the flexion value has been
reached, the carriage reverses 10 °
toward the extension angle and then
moves back again to the maximum
flexion value. The movement through
the final 10 ° is repeated five times at a
slow speed.
At the end of the cycle, the carriage will
again move to the maximum extension
value and then starts another cycle with
five repetitions through the last 10 ° of
the flexion angle.
n EMS control
This special function allows the
ARTROMOT®-K1 Comfort device to
be operated in conjunction with
the electrical muscle stimulator
ARTROSTIM®-FOCUS®plus, for which
it is ideally suited.
For this modality, first plug the "muscle
stimulation" connection cable (part
no. 2.0037.024) into the ARTROSTIM®-
FOCUS®plus device (see ARTROSTIM®-
FOCUS®plus operation manual) and
then into the ARTROMOT®-K1 Comfort
device (see 4.2).
Then activate the EMS control program
at the ARTROMOT®-K1 Comfort.
This function will select the following
settings:
− extension: as per your protocol
− flexion: as per your protocol
− extension pause: 20 seconds
− flexion pause: 0 seconds
Note!
All other protocols will be disabled or
reset to the default values.

Start therapy by pressing the START
key. Starting from the middle posi-
tion, the carriage will move to the
pro gram med flexion angle, then to
the program med extension angle. At
this point, the carriage will stop and
simul tane ously send a trigger pulse to
the ARTROSTIM®-FOCUS® plus device.
For the duration of the pause (default:
20 seconds), the muscle stimulation
protocol that you pro grammed at the
ARTROSTIM®-FOCUS®plus device
will be completed with the selected
intensity (for programming of the EMS
device: see ARTROSTIM®-FOCUS®plus
operation manual). After the pause,
ARTROMOT®-K1 will turn off the EMS
device and the carriage moves to the
programmed maximum flexion angle.
The electrical muscle stimulation will be
repeated in the next extension pause.
Note!
− After activation of the special "EMS
control" function, the pause settings
can be changed.
− Electrical muscle stimulation can
only take place during extension
pauses.
Caution!

Patient hazard –
The only approved device for electrical
muscle stimulation is the ARTROSTIM®-
FOCUS®plus muscle stimulator with
EN 60601-1 approval, manufactured
by DJO Global.
