EPDM TANKS
1. DESCRIPTION
Welded steel tanks, constructed in accordance with European Directive 2014/68/EU, from
two deep-drawn bottoms, joined together by welding seams, carried out according to
approved procedures and personnel, capable of easily withstanding the working pressure
for which they have been designed.
Holes are provided in the bottoms for mounting and fixing the membrane by means of a
screwed cover at the top and a threaded sleeve at the bottom (see models).
The replaceable, completely waterproof membrane is made of flexible synthetic rubber in
one piece, keeping the water permanently isolated from the air, thus excluding any possibility
of corrosion of the inner metal surface of the tank or dilution of the air in the water.
The membrane complies satisfactorily with all legal requirements for food hygiene.
The tanks are fitted with a suitably protected valve for regulating the air chamber pressure.
Final application of red oven-dried epoxy paint on the phosphated surface, oven-dried epoxy
paint, colour red, to check the tightness and resistance of the tanks at a pressure 1.5 times
higher than the maximum service pressure.
2. APPLICATION
DEP hydro-pneumatic accumulators are designed for use in water catchments, in drinking
water supply installations and in fire-fighting systems, forming an essential part of the
booster set. In addition to maintaining a reserve of pressurised water and guaranteeing
an optimum water supply, they extend the life of the booster set, significantly reducing the
number of pump start-stop manoeuvres, as well as making significant energy savings.
They are not suitable for use with hydrocarbons or fluids belonging to Group 1 according to
European Directive 2014/68/EU.
The most important technical characteristics of the DEP hydro-pneumatic accumulators
and other data relating to their manufacture are indicated on the label attached to the
product. This label must not be removed or modified under any circumstances. In addition,
a document containing the instructions for use of the product and the EC declaration of
conformity is supplied with each unit.
