WARNING:
Always position the unit on the operator's right side. The
use of the unit on the operator's left side will expose the
operator to hot surfaces and can result in possible burn
injury.
WARNING:
To avoid burns from hot surfaces, never operate unit with
the bottom of the engine above waist level.
WARNING:
Never use the attachment on a rooftop or other unstable
surface, which can result in death or serious personal
injury.
WARNING:
Do not wear loose clothing, scarves, or jewelry. They can
be caught in moving parts and cause death or serious
personal injury.
WARNING:
Keep all debris discharge pointed away from all electri-
cal devices to reduce the risk of electrocution or electric
shock.
WARNING:
Never point the attachment in the direction of people or
pets. Thrown debris or other objects can cause serious
personal injuries.
Hold the attachment with your right hand on the rear handle
and your left hand on the J-handle. Keep a firm grip with
both hands while in operation. The attachment should be
held at a comfortable position with the trigger handle about
hip height. Maintain your grip and balance on both feet.
Position yourself so that you will not be drawn off balance
by the thrust of the rotating paddles.
NOTE: When used with a gas power head, always operate
at full throttle. Prolonged sweeping at partial throttle will
result in oil dripping from the muffler. If temperature is below
40° F, allow the engine to warm up by running it in the half
choke position for approx. 15-30 seconds before beginning
operation.
OPERATION
Take notice of the direction of the wind before beginning.
When possible, discharge debris in the same direction
as the wind to prevent debris from being thrown back
into your face.
Work in one direction. Start the attachment and walk
slowly behind the broom, cleaning as you go. Do not
pull the unit towards you during operation. Release
the throttle or trigger to stop the rotation of the paddles.
Return to the starting point to begin sweeping another
strip.
WARNING:
Do not use the attachment on raised obstacles. Striking
any raised obstacle while using the attachment could
damage the unit. If contact does occur and results in
damage or vibration when operating the attachment stop
and discontinue use. Continuing to operate a damaged
unit could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Never touch the rotating paddles or place any body part
in front of the attachment when the unit is operating or
when the unit is plugged in or has a battery installed.
Always ensure all moving parts have stopped and the
attachment has been unplugged, battery pack has been
removed, or spark plug wire has been disconnected
before clearing any obstructions. Failure to follow these
instructions can result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Never operate the attachment close to your feet. Keep
the attachment a minimum of twelve inches from your
feet at all times.
Ensure the rotating paddles have come to a complete
stop before setting the attachment down.
