TRANSPORT AND INSTALLATION
2.1
TRANSPORT
Delivery
The compressor is bolted down to a shipping pallet either wood
crating or cardboard covering.
Receiving
When received, check for shipping damage.
1. Check the delivery for visible damage.
2. Use the packing list to check the delivery for completeness.
3. Immediately inform the freight forwarder, insurance, and
Ingersoll Rand of any missing parts or damage.
Weight
Dependent on type, the compressor weight is stated on the
Engineering Data Sheet.
DANGER
Danger to life
Danger to life from tipping or falling parts.
•
A suitable forklift with sufficiently long forks
must be used to transport the compressor.
•
Use forks only at the labeled lifting points.
•
The compressor, even in its packed state,
may not be transported by crane.
•
During transport, no persons may be present in
the hazard area. In particular, do not reach in or
allow the feet to pass beneath the suspended
compressor.
CAUTION
•
Lift compressor unit using enclosure base slots
only. Do not use other places such as motor,
compressor or discharge manifold piping as
lifting points.
•
The eyebolts or lugs provided on the motor
are for lifting the motor only and should not
be used to lift any additional weight. All
eyebolts must be securely tightened. When
lifting the motor, the lifting angle must not
exceed 15°. Failure to observe this warning
may result in damage to equipment or
personal injury.
•
Do not electric weld on the compressor or base;
bearings can be damaged by passing of current.

INSTALLATION
DANGER
•
Do not install isolating valves between
compressor outlet and air receiver. This will
cause excessive pressure if valve is closed, and
cause injury and equipment damage.
•
Do not tighten the anchor screws/nuts down
completely, this will result in undesirable stress
on the tank foot. This can cause abnormal
vibration and possible cracking of the air
receiver, resulting in injury or equipment
damage.
WARNING
•
Do not operate unit if damaged during
shipping, handling or use. Operating unit if
damaged may result in injury.
•
Always use an air pressure regulating device at
the point of use. Failure to do so can result in
injury or equipment damage.
•
Failure to follow installation requirements could
cause premature failure of tank.
