7. Maintenance, cleaning and calibration
7.2 Battery replacement
Wear protective gloves!
Use protective gloves when damaged or leaking/leaked batteries must
be removed.
1. Switch off the instrument and lay it face down.
2. Using a cross-head screwdriver, screw out and remove the screw at the battery
compartment.
3. Remove battery cover.
4. Remove exhausted batteries.
5. Insert the new AA-sized batteries in correct polarity.
Make sure that the polarity, (+) or (-), on the batteries matches the markings in the
battery compartment.
Do not use damaged batteries and follow the battery manufacturer's instructions.
6. Put the battery cover on and tighten it with the screw.
If the batteries are removed during operation, the last active display
remains visible (freezes).
After having inserted the new batteries, an automatic restart occurs.
The settings made previously are retained.
The automatic switch-off is reset and activated.

Damage to the instrument
To avoid possible damage to the CTP1500, note the following:
Always replace all two batteries together! Avoid mixing up old and new batteries.
Do not use any rechargeable batteries!
The battery cover must be closed and secured via all screws!
Ensure the correct polarity.
NEVER mix alkaline batteries and rechargeable batteries with each
other.
Make sure your hands are dry when inserting or replacing the
batteries.
To avoid battery leakage, low batteries should be replaced as quickly
as possible.
