Maintenance
According to paragraph 11, EnEV (Energy Saving Ordinance), the user is required to
have the system serviced regularly to safeguard the reliable and safe function of the
appliance.
When draining the system, hot water may run out and cause injury, in particular
scalding.
8.1
Magnesium anode
The system must be checked by a qualified contractor every 2 years. When a
Please
magnesium anode is installed, the protective effect is based on the electrochemical
note
reaction, which results in the magnesium breaking down. If the magnesium anode
has been used up, the cylinder is no longer protected against corrosion. The conse-
quence is perforation corrosion and water leaks.
The anode must therefore be checked every 2 years by a qualified installer, and
replaced if used up by more than ⅔. Release the cylinder pressure before replacing
the anode. Close the cold water connection, switch off the DHW circulation pump and
open any hot water tap in the house. When draining the system, hot water may run
out and cause injury, in particular scalding.
8.2
Impressed current anode
No maintenance of the anode is required if an impressed current anode is installed.
8.3
Cleaning the cylinder
With a strong jet of cold water, spray off the cylinder and heat exchanger surfaces.
Applying a high heating medium temperature to the indirect coil increases the cle-
aning action. Never scrape off deposits with a hard, sharp-edged object, as this will
damage the enamel.
Remove residues with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner with plastic nozzle.
Avoid the use of chemical cleaning agents. If a cleaning agent is used nevertheless,
observe in particular the permissible application range, usage regulations, material
compatibility and effect on potable water quality. The applicable regulations, guideli-
nes and standards must be observed, in particular datasheet DVGW W 319.
8.4
Flange
Please
After removing the flange, ensure a new gasket is fitted before reinstalling it; tighten
note
the nuts with a torque of 20-25 Nm. Tighten, working diagonally.
