Installation
6.5
Pressure reducer
To be installed if necessary; see also section Installation – Safety valve. Select the
installation position for the pressure reducer as specified by the manufacturer. Instal-
lation must take place with the power supply disconnected.
Determining the internal diameter: Pressure reducers must be selected according to
the required flow rate and not according to the pipe internal diameter.
Select the pressure reducers when calculating the pipework, taking into account
the manufacturer's instructions and the sound prevention requirements. See also
DIN 1988-200 and DIN 4109.
6.6
DEV
Pressure fluctuations and hammer in the DHW cylinder/cold water supply pipe are
caused, for example, by draw-off or by heating of the DHW cylinder. They can be
reduced by installing a diaphragm expansion vessel in the cold water line without
the safety valve responding. This reduces water wastage and material fatigue and
enhances DHW convenience.
6.7
Drinking water filter
We recommend the installation of a drinking water filter into the cold water supply
line, as foreign bodies introduced into the system can block fittings and may lead to
pipe corrosion.
6.8
Cylinder temperature controller and cylinder temperature sensor
Place the electronic cylinder temperature sensor of the heating control unit into the
cylinder sensor well of the DHW cylinder and secure it with the sensor retainer. On
cylinders with sensor channels, fit the sensor to the sensor channel. Set the desired
cylinder temperature at the cylinder temperature controller of the heating control unit
(max. 60 °C).
6.9
Electric booster heater
The cylinder can be equipped with an electric booster heater which is fitted with a
high limit safety cut-out. In the event of a malfunction, the high limit safety cut-out
deactivates further heating when a max. temperature of 110 °C is reached.
Screw the electric booster heater into the socket on the DHW cylinder. A built-in cylin-
der temperature controller and a high limit safety cut-out with a maximum switch-off
temperature of 110 °C must be installed. Set the desired cylinder temperature at the
cylinder temperature controller.
Observe the VDE regulations and requirements and those of your local power supply
utility. The connection must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Disconnect
appliances from the power supply before opening. Never touch live components –
risk of injury or death! Connect the electric booster heater to the 230 V~ or 400 V~
power supply in accordance with the instructions included. The power cable must be
provided on site.
