Preparation
1.
Before using the appliance, prepare it as described in the section "Before
first use".
2.
Place the desired grate in the glass basket.
3.
Two grates are available to choose from:
ƒ Low grate
ƒ High grate

Note that the three feet of the high grate must point downward when you
place the grate in the glass basket. The low grate has a support in the middle,
which likewise must point downward. When inserted in the basket, the grates
must be straight to ensure good frying results. If desired, you can first insert
the low grate and then place the high grate on top to cook on two levels.
Check the food on top regularly to keep it from burning.
5.
Now put the food on the grate. Be careful not to overfill the glass basket.
This will ensure optimal frying results.
6.
Push the glass basket into the opening of the appliance until the glass basket
is locked in place. If the glass basket is not inserted properly, the appliance
cannot be switched on for safety reasons.
7.
Plug the appliance into a power socket (220–240 V~, 50/60 Hz).
8.
A beep sounds, all icons on the display light up briefly and then go out again.
Afterwards, only the "ON/OFF" button is illuminated. The appliance is now
in standby mode.
9.
Press the "ON/OFF" button to switch the appliance on.
Select program
10. Now select the desired program by pressing the "Function" button until the
icon for the desired program flashes.
11. If you wish to change the preset time and temperature of the selected
program, now press the "Time/Temperature" button once to change the time;
press it again to change the temperature. Use the "+" and "–" buttons to
make the changes. The possible settings are listed in the table on page 34. If
you wish to adjust the time or temperature during operation, this is possible
at any time while the program is running.
12. Note: If you do not press any buttons within about 3 seconds, the appliance
automatically switches to standby mode, and the previous settings are
retained. The set temperature is displayed and the selected program flashes.
