This service information describes the connection of the IntelliBridge to the Puritan Bennett 980
ventilator.

Data communication

The IntelliBridge EC10 module supports RS232 serial data communication with the pre-configured
communication settings of the Puritan Bennett 980 ventilator. No further configuration of the
connection parameters is needed.

RS232 parameters must be set and verified according to the Puritan Bennett 980 ventilator service
manual by authorized personnel.

Instruction for connection

Connect the IntelliBridge EC5 D-Sub 9-pin connector to either of the RS232 connectors of the
Puritan Bennett 980 ventilator as shown below. Make sure to tighten the screws of the connector
properly.
