4.2. Work Winch
The Davitrac™ bracket can be used to attach:

• A winch for a lifting rescue device,
• A winch for lifting loads.
Usage in rescue lifting
The work winch is a winch which is a lifting rescue
device. In this configuration, its maximum capacity is
310lbs (140kg). Its recovery function allows the rescuer
to raise and/or lower the operator after a fall.
Use in load lifting
The Work winch winch is a load lifting winch with a max.
WLL of 880 lbs (400 kg). Its lifting function allows the
operator to raise and/or lower a max. load of 880 lbs
(400 kg).

manual hoist.

Usage in rescue lifting
The Scafor
manual hoist can be used as a lifting rescue
®
device. In this configuration, its maximum capacity is
310lbs (140kg). Its recovery function allows the rescuer
to raise and/or lower the operator after a fall.
Use in load lifting
The Scafor
manual hoist is a load lifting hoist with a

max. WLL of 880 lbs (400kg). Its lifting function allows
the operator to raise and/or lower a max. load of 880
lbs (400kg).
For information on how to use the systems attached
to the brackets, see the manuals supplied with each
system.
Before positioning the Davitrac™ bracket on the mast
of the Davitrac™+ or Davitrac™, the operator must
ensure that the mast is placed correctly on its base and
that the base is securely attached to the structure in
accordance with the Permanent bases for Davitrac™+,
Davitrac™ or Davimast™ instructions.
The Davitrac™ anchor bracket may only be fitted on the
mast of the Davitrac™+ or Davitrac™.
They are equipped with keying devices designed
to position the bracket at the top or bottom of the
Davitrac™+ or Davitrac™ mast in the correct position.

5. Installation
The Davitrac™ brackets are equipped with locking pins
with a safety pin, connected by a steel cable.
When only one system is installed, it must be installed
at the rear of the mast:
• A Scafor
or work winch is placed in the high
®
position (A) (see page 3 fig. 3a (A)); and
• The Blocfor
R fall-arrest device is in the low
®
position (B) (see page 3 fig. 3b (B)).
When several systems are installed, they must be
installed as follows:
• A Scafor
or winch is placed in the high position at
®
the rear of the mast (A) (see page 3 fig. 3c (A); and
• The Blocfor
R fall-arrest device is in the low position
®
at the front of the mast (C) (see page 3 fig. 3c (C).
No other configurations are permitted.
Depending on the positioning of your system, route the
cable over the transfer pulleys (A1) (see page 3 fig. 3a
or 3c). For front-mounted equipment, the cable should
pass over the front pulley. For rear-mounted equipment,
the cable should pass over the rear pulley.
The position of the anchor head can be set to three
positions as required. Always lock it into position with
its safety pin.
WARNING
No other assembly than those set out above is
permitted without the written approval of Tractel
WARNING
The stated loads are the maximum values applicable,
which must not in any event be multiplied by the
number or anchor points located on the head or mast
of Davitrac™.
WARNING

pulley for material lifting and rescue equipment
(Scafor or Work winch)
Failure to install the wire ropes correctly could
result in failure of this equipment resulting in fatal or
serious injuries.
When reeving ensure that wire rope / ropes are
correctly aligned on the sheaves as per diagram
below. The wire ropes should remain under tension
to ensure they do not become misaligned.
