Caution
• The results may be incorrect if the code chip and test strips used are from different packages.
• The meter automatically records the last calibration code. If no code chip is inserted before the test starts, the calibration code current-
ly saved is used by default.
• The meter will report an error if the code chip is inserted incorrectly, or if the Blood Glucose/Blood Lactate Test Strips are mixed up, or
if there is no calibration code information available in the meter.
Collecting blood samples
The common blood sampling site for blood glucose/blood lactate testing is the fingertip. Hands need to be washed with soap and warm
water and dried or cleaned with alcohol swabs before blood collection.
Caution
• Avoid moles, blood vessels, bones, tendons, edema, or infected areas. The test site may appear bruised. If bruising occurs, consider
choosing another site.
• No lotions or creams should be used on the sampled area.
• Venous whole blood samples must be collected by a health care provider. Blood samples may be collected in anticoagulant containers
with sodium heparin (90 USP units/4mL), lithium heparin (75 USP units/4mL), EDTA (3.6mg/2mL). Do not use containers with other
anticoagulants. To avoid glycolysis, the blood glucose test must be performed within 20 minutes after blood collection, and the blood
lactate test must be performed immediately after blood collection.
• Sampling should not be conducted at sites other than the fingers if the following circumstances exist:
- The patient's blood sugar is low or changing rapidly.
- The patient has been diagnosed with an unconscious hypoglycemic reaction.
