Protection alarms
The control unit protects the house battery against excessive discharging and overloads. However, it is recommend-
ed that the house battery voltage does not fall below 10.5 V and does not exceed 15 V. If the house battery voltage
falls below 11.5 V, charge the battery immediately. If the display shows the 0 V value for the house battery, it is prob-
able that the internal battery management system (BMS) intervened to avoid the excessive discharge.
The control unit will allow a deeper discharge than the internal battery management system (BMS) of the house bat-
tery:

When the battery is discharged the internal battery management system (BMS) triggers an alarm. There are two ways
to resolve the issue:
Connect an external battery charger.
Press the green icon inside the house battery icon
alternator shortly.
The control unit has an internal sensor that constantly monitors the ambient temperature. When the ambient temper-
ature is outside the 0 °C ... 45 °C range, the system triggers an alarm:

The alarm disappears when the ambient temperature returns to the normal range.
Charging
When charging the battery with an external charger, the following guidelines should be observed:
• It is recommended to use chargers intended for charging lithium (LiFePO4) batteries. Other type of charger
will reduce battery life.
• The charger must not perform any desulfation action.
• When using a configurable charger, set the constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) option with the follow-
ing values:
• Set the end of charge voltage to 14.4 V.
• Set the recommended maximum charging current for the battery.
• The maximum charging voltage should not exceed 14.5 V.
• When the battery is fully charged and the display shows 100% state of charge, disconnect or turn off the charg-
er.
When the battery is charged by the alternator, the process is automatically managed by the control unit.
