7.1
Mounting the "Bike" handle (03)
1. Unscrew and remove the screws (03/1).
2. Take the upper half shell (03/2) off the lower
half shell (03/4).
3. Insert the "Bike" handle (03/3) into the lower
half shell.
4. Place on the upper half shell and lightly
screw in the screws.
5. Align the "Bike" handle in such a way (03/a)
that distance (03/A) is smaller than distance
(03/B).
Note: Always guide the trimmer to the right of
your body using the "Bike" handle. Both dis-
tances are correct when the middle of the
cutting head coincides with the middle of the
body.
6. Tighten the screws firmly.
7.2
Putting on and adjusting the carrying
belt (04, 05)
Putting on the carrying belt
1. Put on the carrying belt according to the fig-
ure (04).
2. Hook the snap hook (05/1) into the eye (05/2)
on the appliance.
Checking the length of the carrying belt
1. Carry out several horizontal sweeping move-
ments above the ground without starting the
motor (05/a). The cutting head must always
move above the floor at the same height.
2. If not: Adjust the length of the carrying belt
and repeat the sweeping movements.
7.3
Installing the guard plate (06)
1. Push guard plate (06/1) onto cutter head
(06/2).
2. Guide screws (06/3) through the guard plate
and screw into holes (06/4).

Fitting/removing the blade (07)
WARNING! Risk of injury due to detach-
ing appliance parts. Appliance parts detaching
during operation can lead to serious injury.

Attach the cutting tools so that they cannot
come loose during operation.
Fitting the blade
1. If fitted: Remove the spool head see chapter
7.5 "Removing/fitting the spool head (08)",
page 31,.

2. Push washer (07/3) and blade (07/1) onto the
drive shaft of cutter head (07/2). The inscrip-
tion on the blade must point outwards, i.e.
away from the cutter head.
3. Push on the cover (07/4).
4. Screw locknut (07/5) onto the drive shaft and
tighten by hand in anti-clockwise direction.
5. Firmly tighten the locknut (07/5) with the
combination spanner. Use the retaining pin
for bracing.
Removing the blade
1. Loosen locknut (07/5) in clockwise direction
with the combination spanner. Use the retain-
ing pin for bracing.
2. Remove the locknut (07/5), the cover (07/4),
the blade (07/1) and the washer (07/3).

Removing/fitting the spool head (08)

Fitting the spool head
1. If fitted: Remove the blade see chapter 7.4
"Fitting/removing the blade (07)", page 31,.
2. Push washer (08/3) onto the drive shaft of
cutter head (08/2).
3. Push on the spool head (08/1) and screw
tight in counter-clockwise direction. Use the
retaining pin for bracing
Removing the spool head
1. Loosen spool head (08/1) by turning in clock-
wise direction. Use the retaining pin for brac-
ing.
2. Remove the spool head (08/1) and washer
(08/3).
7.6
Replacing the cutting line (09)
1. Turn rotary knob (09/1) until the arrows (09/2,
09/3) are aligned.
2. Push the cutting line into opening (09/4) until
the line is the same length on both sides of
the spool head.
3. Wind cutting line into spool head: Turn rotary
knob (09/1) in the direction of arrows (09/5)
until the cutting line protrudes by approx.
10 cm from the spool head on both sides.
