Oil reservoir installation (expansion tank) figure 3.
5. The oil reservoir (15) must not be fitted to the engine, it must be fitted to a bulkhead or equivalent. Note!
The difference in height between the centre of the reversing gear and the lower edge of the reservoir
must not be less than 100 mm. Also make sure that the hoses from the oil cooler to the reservoir and
from the reservoir to the servo pump are long enough.
6. Install the bracket (16) with two screws. Slide the oil reservoir on and make sure that it hooks onto the
bracket.

7. Screw the oil supply pipe (17) to the servo pump. Fix the hose to the existing oil hose with tie wraps.
8. Connect the oil suction hose (18) to the servo pump and to the lower connection of the oil reservoir.
Make sure that the hose has a suitable run and cut it to the correct length. Thread the hose clamps (19)
over and tighten them.
9. Connect the return hose from the steering cylinder to the oil cooler. Cut the hose 2200 mm from the free
end. Then cut this section into suitable lengths and connect them between the oil cooler and the oil
reservoir. Thread the hose clamps (20) over. Tighten the clamps. Make sure that the hoses have a
suitable run, please refer to figure 4.
Topping up oil, venting and inspection
10. Use engine oil. Unscrew the reservoir cap and top up, so that the reservoir is full. Start the engine and
allow it to idle. Top with oil as the level falls, and stop topping up when the level has stabilised at the
correct value. Use the dipstick in the cap to check.
11. Turn the wheel between its end positions. Turn it repeatedly, with smooth movements, so that the
pump works at low pressure. Top up with oil as necessary and stop turning the wheel when the oil in
the reservoir is almost free from air bubbles. Put the cap back on the reservoir.
12. Check that no oil leakage occurs in the system. Also check that the hoses are not in contact with hot
or moving components of the engine.
