of the garden shears. To reduce the risk of severe
personal injury:
– Wear sturdy and snug-fitting clothing that
also allows complete freedom of
movement.
– Avoid loose-fitting jackets, scarves, neckties, flared
or cuffed pants, jewelry and any other apparel that
could be caught on branches, brush or the moving
cutting attachment.
– Secure hair above shoulder level before starting
work.
■ To reduce the risk of eye injury:
– Always wear goggles or close-fitting
protective glasses with adequate side
protection that are impact-rated and
marked as complying with ANSI Z87 "+"

WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of electric shock:
– Do not expose the garden shears to rain,
water or excessive moisture.
– Store the garden shears indoors.
■ The grass and shrub blades have many sharp cutters.
Making contact with the cutters may result in serious
laceration injuries, even if the cutting blades are not
moving. To reduce the risk of such injuries:
– Keep hands, feet and other parts of your body away
from the cutting blades.
– Wear heavy-duty work gloves when handling the
garden shears or the grass or shrub blades.
– The garden shears are operated with one hand.
Keep your other hand away from the cutting area
during operation. Never hold the material being cut
while operating the garden shears.
– Never touch the moving cutting blades with your
hand or any other part of your body.
– Cover the cutting blades with a blade scabbard
before transporting or storing the garden shears to
reduce the risk of inadvertent contact.
