Important Safety Notice: This device is intended to be used by
individuals with adequate training and experience in diagnostic
imaging studies.
Intended Use: The contents of this package are intended to be
used in the delivery of contrast media or saline. They are indicated
for single-use on one patient only with Salient and Vistron Plus
Injectors. The transfer set is intended for use for one container of
media only, and must be discarded when the container becomes
empty, or after six hours, whichever comes first. Refer to the media
manufacturer's instructions for use for additional indications.
Contraindications: These devices are not intended for multiple
patient use, drug infusion, chemotherapy, or any other use for
which the device is not indicated.
Restricted Sale: Rx Only
Warnings
•
Air embolization can cause death or serious injury to
the patient. Do not connect a patient to the injector until all
trapped air has been cleared from the syringe and fluid path.
Carefully read the instructions for loading and the use of Flui-
Dots® indicators to reduce the chance of air embolism.
•
Biological contamination can result from reusing dispos-
able items or failure to follow aseptic technique. Properly
discard disposable items after use, or if there is any possibility
that contamination may have occurred.
•
Syringe sterility will be compromised, and patient infec-
tion may result, if the plunger is removed from the sy-
ringe. Do not remove the plunger to fill the syringe.
•
Bacterial contamination can occur if syringes are used
to store contrast media. Use loaded syringes immediately.
Discard unused loaded syringes.
•
Patient or operator injury may result if package is opened
or damaged, or if damaged components are used. Visually
inspect contents and package before each use.
•
Patient or operator injury may result from contrast media
leaks or tubing ruptures. Ensure that the fluid path is open;
do not exceed pressures identified on the front of the package.
Use of greater pressures or occlusions in the fluid path may
result in leaks or ruptures.
•
Patient injury could result if syringe is not properly en-
gaged. Do not load or inject unless the syringe is properly
engaged.
Cautions
•
Component damage or leaks may occur if not installed prop-
erly. Ensure all connections are secure; do not overtighten.
This will help minimize leaks, disconnection, and component
damage.

Verwendungszweck: Der Inhalt dieser Packung ist zum Füllen von
Kontrastmittel oder Kochsalzlösung in eine Spritze vorgesehen. Das

toren bei einem einzigen Patienten vorgesehen. Weitere Indikationen
sind der Gebrauchsanleitung für das Kontrastmittel bzw. die Kochsal-
zlösung zu entnehmen.
Kontraindikationen: Diese Produkte sind nicht zum Gebrauch bei
mehreren Patienten, zur Infusion von Arzneimitteln, für Chemotherapie
oder für andere nicht bestimmungsgemäße Anwendungen bestimmt.
Beschränkter Verkauf: Verschreibungspflichtig
Warnhinweise
•
Eine Luftembolisation kann zu schweren Verletzungen bzw.
zum Tod des Patienten führen. Der Patient darf erst an den
Injektor angeschlossen werden, wenn sämtliche Luft aus der
Spritze und der Infusionszuleitung entfernt wurde. Um das Risiko
einer Luftembolie zu reduzieren, die Gebrauchsanweisungen zur
Installierung und Anwendung der FluiDots® Indikatoren (falls
vorhanden) sorgfältig durchlesen.
•
Durch Wiederverwendung von Einwegartikeln bzw. Nicht-
beachtung aseptischer Verfahren kann es zu biologischen
Kontaminationen kommen. Einwegartikel müssen nach dem
Gebrauch bzw. falls eine Möglichkeit besteht, dass eine Kontami-
nation vorliegt, ordnungsgemäß entsorgt werden.
•
Falls der Kolben aus der Spritze entfernt wird, wird die Ste-
rilität der Spritze beeinträchtigt. Dies kann zu einer Infektion
des Patienten führen. Den Kolben zum Füllen der Spritze nicht
entfernen.
•
Wenn Spritzen zum Aufbewahren von Kontrastmittel ver-
wendet werden, kann es zu einer bakteriellen Kontamination
kommen. Gefüllte Spritzen sofort verwenden. Unbenutzte gefül-
lte Spritzen wegwerfen.
•
Bei geöffneter bzw. beschädigter Verpackung oder bei Ver-
wendung beschädigter Komponenten können Patienten oder
Bediener verletzt werden. Inhalt und Packung vor jedem Ge-
brauch einer Sichtkontrolle unterziehen.
•
Bei Kontrastmittellecks oder einem Bersten des Schlauchs
können Patienten und Bediener verletzt werden. Sicherstel-
len, dass die Zuleitung durchgängig ist. Die auf der Packungs-
vorderseite angegebenen Druckwerte dürfen nicht überschritten
werden. Bei Anwendung höherer Drücke bzw. bei Verstopfungen
in der Zuleitung können Lecks oder Risse auftreten.

NOTE: To minimize bubbles when loading a syringe through a
transfer set, do not exceed a reverse load rate of 7 ml/sec.
Installing a Syringe
Insert the syringe until it snaps into place. The piston automatically
engages the plunger, and advances it to the front of the syringe.
Operator vigilance and care, coupled with a set procedure, is es-
sential to minimizing the possibility of an air embolism. Point the
injector head up during loading. Point the injector head down dur-
ing an injection.
To help avoid an air injection, IMAXEON syringes are equipped
with FluiDots® indicators.

observed as part of an arm-
ing procedure. When the Flu-
iDots® are viewed through
an empty syringe, the dots

appear as small narrow ellip-
ses. When viewed through a
full syringe, the dots become larger, almost round.
To minimize air embolization risks, ensure that one operator is des-
ignated the responsibility of filling the syringe(s). Do not change
operators during the procedure. If an operator change must occur,
ensure that the new operator verifies that the fluid path is purged
of air.
Loading and Priming a Syringe Using a Quick Fill Tube (QFT)
The syringe can be loaded manually or automatically on the Sali-
ent injector. See the Salient Operation Manual for more detailed
instructions.
Salient Manual Loading:
1.
Install a new syringe.
2.
Install the QFT onto the end of the syringe, 1/4 turn to 1/2 turn
maximum. Do not install with excessive force.
3.
Insert the QFT into the fluid source and fill the syringe with
fluid, using the load buttons.
4.
Expel air.
5.
Remove QFT. Connect the disposable tubing set.
6.
Follow the instructions in the section "Connector Tube Instal-
lation."
Salient Integral Autoload with a QFT:
1.
Install a new syringe.
2.
Select the syringe on the fill screen and press the "Auto" Fill
tab
3.
Install a QFT onto the end of the syringe, 1/4 turn to 1/2 turn
maximum. Do not install with excessive force.
4.
Insert the QFT into the fluid source and press the start button
on the "Auto" Fill tab.
5.
Expel air.

Spritze eine Rückfüllungsrate von 7 ml/s nicht überschreiten.
Anbringen einer Spritze
Die Spritze einführen, bis sie einrastet. Der Kolben greift automatisch
in den Kolbenkopf ein und schiebt diesen in der Spritze nach vorne
(bei den meisten Modellen). Zum Reduzieren des Volumens und der
Größe der während des Füllens in die Spritze eingezogenen Luft-
bläschen wird ein Flüssigkeitsabgabegerät von IMAXEON empfohlen.
Es ist von größter Wichtigkeit, dass der Bediener Sorgfalt und Vorsicht
anwendet und das vorgeschriebene Verfahren genau befolgt, um das
Risiko einer Luftembolie zu minimieren. Den Injektorkopf während des
Füllens nach oben richten. Den Injektorkopf während einer Injektion
nach unten richten.
Spritzen von IMAXEON sind
mit FluiDots® Markierungen
ausgestattet,
um
das
Inji-
zieren von Luft zu vermeiden.
Diese
FluiDots-Markierungen
sollten während des Aktivier-
Leere
ungsprozesses
überwacht
werden. Wenn eine FluiDots-
Markierung durch eine leere Spritze beobachtet wird, sehen die Marki-
erungen wie schmale Ellipsen aus. Wenn die Spritze voll ist, sehen die
Markierungen größer und fast rund aus.
Zum Minimieren des Risikos einer Luftembolie sicherstellen, dass
ein und derselbe Bediener für das Füllen der Spritze(n) verantwortlich
ist. Während des Verfahrens sollte der Bediener nicht gewechselt
werden. Wenn ein Bedienerwechsel durchgeführt werden muss, sich-
erstellen, dass der neue Bediener die Infusionszuleitung überprüft und
etwaige Luftbläschen entfernt.
Füllen und Entlüften einer Spritze mit oder einer Quick Fill Tube
(QFT)
Die Spritze kann manuell oder am Salient Injektor automatisch gefüllt
werden. Weitere Anweisungen hierzu sind der Salient-Bedienungsan-
leitung zu entnehmen.
Manuelles Füllen des Gerätes:
1.
Neue Spritze einsetzen.
2.
Schnellfüllstab (QFT - Quick-Fill-Tube) mit 1/4 bis maximal 1/2
Umdrehung am Ende der Spritze befestigen. Keine Gewalt an-
wenden.
3.
QFT in die Flüssigkeitsquelle einführen und die Spritze mit Hilfe
der Füllknöpfe füllen.
4.
Spritze entlüften.
5.
QFT entfernen. Den Einweg-Patientenschlauch anschließen.
6.
Anweisungen im Abschnitt „Installation der Anschlussleitung"
befolgen.

Note: Patency check through aspiration using the injector is not
possible when using a check valve on the end of the connector
tube. If aspiration is important, remove the check valve from the
connector tube and directly connect the connector tube to the
catheter.
Filling with Spike
Prepare the bottle or bag of contrast and/or flushing solution. Push
the bottle or bag onto the spike until the seal is punctured.
Removing a Syringe(s)
1.
Disconnect the disposable tubing set from the vascular entry
device. The disposable tubing set does not need to be discon-
nected from the syringe.
Filled
2.
Rotate the syringe approximately 1/4 turn counter-clockwise
and gently pull the syringe out of the injector head, discarding
the syringe with disposable tubing set.
Note: Once the syringe is removed from the injector, the piston will
automatically retract.
Note: In order to remove the syringe, the last piston motion must
be in the forward direction, which is typical. If you cannot remove
the syringe, press the "Back" button until the fill screen is dis-
played, press the retract button, then repeat Step 2.
Connector Tube Installation
1.
Ensure all air is purged from the syringe.
2.
Remove the connector tube from the package. Remove the
dust covers on the luer fittings. Attach the connector tube to
the syringe, 1/4 turn to 1/2 turn maximum. Do not install with
excessive force.
3.
Ensure that the connector luer fitting is secured to the tip of the
syringe and verify that the tubing is not kinked or obstructed.
If you are using a connector tube with
T-connector, attach the straight portion of the
T-connector to the contrast (Syringe A) and the
extension to the saline (Syringe B). If the T-con-
nector is connected to Syringe B, priming will not
completely fill the connector tubing.
4.
Ensure all air is purged.
5.
Rotate the injector head downward.
6.
Connect to the patient and press ARM.
7.
The injector will ask for CHECK FOR AIR.

Hinweis: Befindet sich am Ende des Verbindungsschlauches ein
Rückschlagventil, ist die Durchgängigkeitsprüfung durch Aspiration
mit dem Handknopf des Injektors nicht möglich. Sollte eine Aspiration
wichtig sein, muss das Rückschlagventil vom Verbindungsschlauch
abgenommen und der Verbindungsschlauch direkt an den Katheter
angeschlossen werden.
Füllgerät (Fülldorn)
Die Flasche oder den Beutel mit Kontrastmittel und/oder die Spül-
lösung vorbereiten. Die Flasche oder den Beutel auf das Füllgerät
schieben, bis die Dichtung durchstochen wird.
Entfernen von Spritzen
1.
Den Einweg-Schlauchsatz vom vaskulären Zugangsgerät ab-
nehmen. Der Einweg-Schlauchsatz muss nicht von der Spritze
abgenommen werden.
2.
Die Spritze um ca. 1/4 Drehung gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen
und vorsichtig aus dem Injektorkopf ziehen. Die Spritze zusam-
men mit dem Einweg-Schlauchsatz entsorgen.
Hinweis: Nachdem die Spritze aus dem Injektor entfernt wurde, fährt
Gefüllte
der Kolben automatisch zurück.
Hinweis: Zum Entfernen der Spritze muss die letzte Kolbenbewegung
vorwärts sein, was normalerweise der Fall ist. Falls die Spritze nicht
entfernt werden kann, den manuellen Knopf des Injektorkopfs um ca.
eine Drehung vorwärts drehen, dann Schritt 2 wiederholen.
Installation der Anschlussleitung
1.
Anschlussleitung aus der Verpackung entnehmen und den

3.
Staubschutz von den Luer-Anschlüssen entfernen. Den An-
schlussschlauch mit 1/4 Drehung (maximal 1/2 Drehung) auf der
Spritze montieren. Nicht mit großem Kraftaufwand befestigen.
4.
Sicherstellen, dass der Lueranschluss der Anschlussleitung
an der Spritzenspitze befestigt ist und der
Schlauch nicht abgeknickt oder blockiert ist.
Falls eine Anschlussleitung mit T-Anschluss be-
nutzt wird, den geraden Teil des T-Anschlusses
an das Kontrastmittel (Spritze A) und die Ver-
längerung an die Kochsalzlösung (Spritze B)
anschließen. Falls der T-Anschluss an die Spritze
B angeschlossen ist, wird die Anschlussleitung
durch das Entlüften nicht vollständig gefüllt.
5.
Sicherstellen, dass alle Luftrückstände en-
tfernt wurden.
6.
Den Injektorkopf nach unten drehen.
7.
Den Patienten anschließen und die Taste „Luft entfernt" drücken.
