Reading below the DPD-1

Unstable reading
Insuffi cient fl ow in the sensor holders
There are air bubbles in the measuring zone of the
sensor
Sensor passivated for working at more than 3 mg/l
The pH of the water is higher than at the ti me of
calibrati on
The pH is above 9, and therefore outside the
recommended reading zone
The sensor has been calibrated without waiti ng for

DPD-1 measurement is incorrect owing to a sample
of water with high salinity
Failure in sealing of the sensor

Adjust the fl ow reaching the sensor
holders. Clean the fi lter and the fl ow
regulator of the sensor holders
Bleed the sensor holders and ensure that
there is no air remaining in the measuring
zone.
Clean the sensor by submerging it in an
HC10.1M soluti on for 20 seconds
Calibrate the sensor to the new pH value
Adjust the pH within the acceptable pH
range: 6.5-9
Repeat conditi oning of the sensor and
recalibrate
Repeat the DPD-1 measurement with new
reacti ves
Increase the waiti ng ti me in the reacti on
of the DPD measurement reacti ves
Check sealing rings of the sensor
Calibrate the sensor at the new pH value
Adjust the pH to within the acceptable pH
margin
Check connecti ons
Stabilize pressure in the piping where
samples are taken for the sensor holders
and check the fl ow regulator
Bleed the sensor holder and ensure that
there is no air remaining in the measuring
zone.
Eliminate the source of disturbance. It
may be useful to connect water to an
earth connecti on
Do not use more than one oxidizing agent
to disinfect the water.
Stabilize the pH
