• Dimmer Down:
– briefly press the button (less than 1 second) to decrease the brightness slightly, if it
is not already at the minimum setting;
– hold down the button (more than 1 second) to continuously decrease the bright-
ness down to the desired setting (release the button) or the minimum.
6.1.2 - MODE II procedures
Procedures of this type enable the installer to freely assign any dimmer command to
any transmitter button. Following a Mode II procedure, to assign another command

to another button, repeat the procedure from the start. The following commands can
be memorized with Mode II procedures:
• Dimmer Up > Dimmer Down > Dimmer Up > etc..... / Toggle:
– hold down the button (more than 1 second) to increase the brightness (Dimmer
Up). If you release the button and then hold it down again, the dimmer decreases
the brightness (Dimmer Down);
– briefly press the button (less than 1 second) to turn the lamp on or off (Toggle).
• Dimmer Up:
functions as described under Mode I.
• Dimmer Down:
functions as described under Mode I.
• Toggle:
functions as described under Mode I.
• Brightness level (...) (1 / 2 / 3 / 4):
these commands each call up a different brightness setting. The factory settings
for the levels are given in the following table:
Brightness level 1 = 25 %
HSTX8
Brightness level 2 = 50 %
Brightness level 3 = 75 %
Brightness level 4 = 100 %
The brightness setting for each level can be changed using the procedures given
in Chapter 11. Caution! – If the setting if less than the minimum brightness setting
(see Chapter 4) the lamp will not work properly; for instance, an On command will
not turn the lamp on.
For example: if the dimmer is connected to a led lamp (the minimum bright-
ness setting for this type of lamp is = 30%, see Table A) and you send the
Brightness level 1 command with a 25% setting (factory setting), the lamp will
remain switched off because 25% is less than 30% (minimum brightness value
for led lamps).
