CHECKING THE AMOUNT OF GAS ON START-UP
The amount of gas on start-up is checked by applying the following formula:
Ts x Qs ≤ 100
where
Ts = Safety time in seconds
Qs = Energy released in safety time expressed in Kw
the value Qs is obtained from:
where
Q1 is the flow rate expressed in litres freed in n° 10 start-ups in the safety time.
Ts1 is the sum of the effective safety time in the 10 start-ups.
Qn is the nominal power.
To obtain Q1, operate as follows:
● Disconnect the control electrode cable (ioniser electrode)
● Read the gas meter before the test
● Carry out n° 10 burner start-ups, which correspond to n° 10 safety blocks.
● Read the gas meter again; subtract the initial reading and the Q1 value is obtained.
e.g. initial reading 00006.682 litres
final reading 00006.947 litres
total Q1 00000.265 litres
● By carrying out these operations, we can obtain Ts1 by timing n° 1 start-up (safety
blocks) for the n° of start-ups.
e.g. Effective safety time = 1"95
Ts1 = 1"95 x 10 = 19"5 Ts1 = 1"95 x 10 = 19"5
● If at the end of this control there should be a value exceeding 100, intervene on the
speed regulation of the opening of the main valve.
